GLENDALE, Ariz. - In an unmatched digital era, with social media hosting the forum for silent screaming matches over Twitter fingers, “keeping the main thing the main thing” as Jalen Hurts said,  can be the biggest challenge  But it’s currently the Eagles’ strong suit, as Jalen Hurts lights the way with undeniable leadership. You know, it’s a Philly thing. Something special, not pretty, but fierce.

The team has come a long way, so long that they defeated the 49ers in a NFC championship blowout to advance them to the 2023 Superbowl. And It’s been just about two weeks since the game captivated an audience of over 47 million. How did their mentality set them up for success? How will this mentality serve them in the Super Bowl tonight?

A unique ability to remain poised and composed during a time when all of the season's distractions are “amplified”, as Hurts says, got them to the position they are in.

These values- selflessness, confidence, tunnel vision-run team-deep. AJ Brown shed some light on the team’s mentality: “We are not playing for individual accolades Playing the game to be the best and holding that trophy up is why we play the game.” The power of the team is seen at the heart of the Eagle’s franchise, and what a strong foundation it is for the Eagles to stand on.

A city’s culture is often reflected in their sports teams, from mentality to how they’re presented by the media. “It’s a Philly Thing” is the new city slogan it seems, and it's these four words that embody the city, the team and the leaders of it. Rough around the edges, a team that’s gritty and fights to play at the highest level regardless of media critics and the glamor of their opponent, the Kansas City Chiefs - who have a superstar QB in Patricks Mahomes.

In tonight’s game, the same mentality that got them to Arizona will help determine if they leave Arizona with a parade down Broad Street waiting for them back home.

Tune in to tonight's game at 6:30 pm ET on Fox.
