DEVON, Pa. - Dressage at Devon returns to the historic horse show grounds in Devon, Pennsylvania for it’s 49th year. After two and a half days of breed classes, the official dressage program was kicked off with its annual Jewel Court Stud Dressage Masterclass. Headlined by Australian grand-prix level dressage olympian Brett Parbery, the masterclass featured seasoned dressage riders showcasing the different elements of dressage. Featured athletes included Lorna Nagel, Lauren Chumley, Eliane Cordia Van Reesema, Kamden Perno and Anna Keenan McPhee.
Parbery said that, “I want to educate […] all of the top riders in the world what the [lesser known Dressage training elements are].”
Dressage at Devon is hosts to one of the world's largest dressage-based, open-breed competitions. Over a dozen different horse breeds are represented in the breed division of the show. 29 grand-prix horse-and-rider combinations will make appearances at Devon this week, including two Olympic pairs, PanAmerican riders and competitors from across the world. Classes are FEI level, including four Grand Prix classes at the level of Olympic competition. The dressage show also includes a Fall Festival featuring over fifty local, national and internationally recognized vendors.
