Arrangements for the Funeral of Professor Charles McKeough
It is with a heavy heart that the McKeough family and Villanova University announces the arrangements for the funeral of Professor Charles McKeough ‘61 COE, P ‘19, who passed away Monday, January 1st. Prof. McKeough touched the lives of many with his kindness, warmth, and love. The McKeough family invites you to gather to honor his memory and bid your final farewells on January 19th and 20th.
VIEWINGS and Visitations
A viewing and visitation will be held on Friday, January 19th, 2024 at Alleva Funeral Home, in Paoli, Pennsylvania, from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM. This will be an opportunity for friends and family to pay their respects and offer their condolences to the family.
A second viewing and visitation will be held on Saturday, January 20th, 2024 at Saint Thomas of Villanova Church on the campus of Villanova University, in Villanova, Pennsylvania, from 9:00 AM to 10:30 AM.
Funeral Mass
The funeral Mass will take place on Saturday, January 20th, 2024 at Saint Thomas of Villanova Church on the campus of Villanova University, in Villanova, Pennsylvania, at 10:30 AM. The family invites you to gather to celebrate Prof. McKeough's life, share memories, and offer your final farewells.
Committal Service
Following his funeral Mass, Prof. McKeough will be laid to rest at the McKeough Family plot next to his beloved wife, Marylou, at the Washington Memorial Chapel Churchyard located in Valley Forge National Historical Park in Valley Forge, Pennsylvania. A solemn procession escorting Prof. McKeough to his final resting place will begin in Valley Forge Park to the gravesite. Prof. McKeough will be escorted by a bagpiper from the Philadelphia Police and Fire Pipes and Drums corps. At the gravesite, a Way Committal Service will be conducted by Deacon Dan Mazurek from Saint Isaac Jogues Parish. Following the service, Prof. McKeough will be lowered into his vault and entombed. As the entombment is being conducted, the lone bagpiper will play Sleep, Dearie, Sleep.
In lieu of flowers and gifts, the family requests that donations be made to the Carley’s Angels Foundation, in honor of Prof. McKeough’s memory. Details for making donations can be found on the charity's memorial website at carleysangels.ca/charles-mckeough.
The family would also like to extend their deepest gratitude for the support and love shown by friends and family during this difficult time. Prof. McKeough was a remarkable person who brightened the lives of those he touched, and they hope to commemorate him in a way that reflects her warmth and spirit.
