“Is that really Unitas? Is that really Caritas?”

Dear Villanova,

From the day that I came to Villanova, I heard mention about how the “peak” Villanova experience is getting married in the Villanova Church. This was reinforced by countless faculty members and even on campus tours. However as a gay student I know that I would never be able to be married there. On the way to class from South Campus I would often watch weddings and be reminded of this fact. It amazes me how many straight students are oblivious to the fact that no matter how much a gay student gives to the campus community, their identity will always deny them the fact of even being able to marry the person they love on the premises or by Villanova officials?

Is that really Unitas? Is that really Caritas?

Sincerely,
Anonymous Student
