Even though Covid cases are not nearly as high as they were at the height of the pandemic, the President getting vaccinated is a good reminder for Americans to do their part to protect themselves and others from the virus, as well as the flu.

WASHINGTON - The recently updated Covid booster shot has brought about much skepticism, leading many Americans to avoid staying up-to-date with keeping themselves and others protected from the virus.

On Friday, President Joe Biden received the new vaccination for Covid, as well as the flu vaccine. As the fall and winter months are approaching, it is imperative for Americans to get vaccinated for both Covid and the flu, because germs spread more rapidly then.

Biden is serving as the prime example for Americans to get vaccinated, which the nation is in dire need of right now. Since cases of Covid are not as prevalent as they have been, people do not feel the need to get the vaccine. However, there are still many Covid hospitalizations each week, and the risk for getting Covid still exists.

“As we enter the cold and flu season, the President encourages all Americans to follow his example and to check with their healthcare provider or pharmacist to assure that they are fully vaccinated.” Dr. Kevin O’Connor, Biden’s physician, said in a statement released Saturday.

Biden also received the RSV vaccination several weeks ago, which was included in the

statement. The President is hopeful that his actions will result in people across the nation getting

vaccinated.
