Jill Biden Sets Off to England for Coronation
After serving the British Kingdom for 70 years, Queen Elizabeth II, 96, died in September.

WASHINGTON - Dr. Jill Biden will travel to London on May 5th for the royal Coronation of King Charles III. Traveling with her granddaughter, Finnegan Biden, the President will not be in attendance as no American President has ever been to a British Coronation.
“I am proud the First Lady is representing the United States for this historic occasion,” President Joe Biden tweeted.
Arriving on Friday, the First Lady will greet Mrs. Akshata Murty, wife of British Prime Minister, Rishi Sunak.
Alongside their meeting at the Prime Minister's residence, they will also participate in a health and wellness program with veterans as well as visit a nearby school hosting a fair for the Coronation.
Later that day, Dr. Biden will visit the United States Embassy to greet the staff and families before the reception at Buckingham Palace that night, hosted by the Royal Family.
Representing the United States, the First Lady will attend the Coronation of King Charles III and Queen Consort Camilla in the morning at Westminster Abbey.
Later in the evening, Dr. Biden will attend a reception hosted by Jane Hartley, United States Ambassador. Before flying home on Sunday, the First Lady will also attend a luncheon at the Prime Minister’s residence.
