DEVON, Pa. - The Devon Show Grounds were alive with excitement as exhibitors gathered for the highly anticipated 2024 Devon Fall Classic. Jumper riders kicked off the event in the Dixon Oval, with the $5,000 Welcome Jumper Stake headlining the action-packed day.

The Devon Fall Classic opened with Thursday’s thrilling $5,000 Welcome Jumper Stake. Melissa Strawser and her impressive Darwin De Mars emerged victorious in the class, showcasing their exceptional partnership.

Strawser and Darwin first teamed up three years ago at the Devon Horse Show and have since become a force in the High Amateur Owner Jumpers. The pair claimed championship honors at this year’s Devon Horse Show and secured a win in the 1.40m jumpers at the 2023 Devon Fall Classic. This winter, the duo aims to step up to the grand prix level in Ocala, Florida.

Laura Chapot rode C&C Willow to a strong second-place finish. Seth Vallhonrat and Lordy P completed the top three.

Earlier in the day, Kama Godek and Lady Stakkata clinched a victory in the 1.30m Jumper Class, adding to the excitement of the opening day at Devon.
