Announcement of the Death of Marylou McKeough

It is with heavy hearts that the McKeough family announces the passing of Marylou McKeough, a beloved member of the Main Line and Port Richmond communities. Marylou passed away after a short illness while in the intensive care unit of Paoli Hospital, surrounded by her son Andrew and her loved ones.

Marylou was a shining beacon of compassion, dedication, and kindness, and her legacy will forever be etched in the hearts of those she touched. She was a dedicated wife to her husband of 32 years, Charles, mother to Andrew, and friend, who always put the needs of others before her own. Marylou was predeceased by her loving parents Mary D. Mankowski (née Valentino) and Stephen J. Mankowski. She was also predeceased by her beloved brother, Stephen E. Mankowski, Jr., at the age of 19 after a battle with leukemia.

Marylou's unwavering commitment to the well-being of her patients and her profound empathy made her a cherished figure in the healthcare community. Her soothing presence and comforting words provided solace to countless individuals during their most vulnerable moments. She was a pillar of strength and a source of solace for those in need, and her commitment to the nursing profession was unwavering.

A graduate of Hahnemann University (now Drexel University), Marylou was not just a remarkable nurse; she was a friend, confidante, and guardian angel to her patients and colleagues during her time at Hahnemann University and Kennedy Hospitals and as blood bank supervisor at Temple University Hospital and Abington Memorial Hospital. Her warmth, sense of humor, and boundless kindness brightened the lives of everyone she encountered. She made a lasting impact on all of us, and her absence will be deeply felt.

In her memory, we are reminded of the profound impact one individual can have on the lives of others. Marylou's legacy will live on through the countless lives she touched and the love she shared with all who were fortunate enough to know her.

The McKeough family would like to extend their heartfelt thanks to all those who have reached out with their condolences and support during this difficult time. They ask that their privacy be respected as they mourn the loss of their beloved wife and mother.

Marylou's light will continue to shine brightly in our hearts, and her memory will forever be a source of inspiration and comfort. She will be deeply missed, but her spirit lives on in the lives she has touched.

The McKeough Family asks that donations in her memory be made to the Carley’s Angels Foundation. More information on the foundation can be found here.

Funeral and memorial services to celebrate the life of Marylou McKeough are still being planned. Details will be shared as they become available.
