Official Statement by Andrew McKeough
I would like to say thank you to the Academy for creating something that will ensure that generations to come will know the history and art of film. When I was in second grade, I saw Steven Spielberg’s Jaws for the first time. I - as many before me and many after me - found the film and cinematography to be a piece of art. Spielberg became my hero and I knew from then that I wanted to have something to do with film. I hope that this small gift is able to benefit the larger goal of the Academy Museum to educate and showcase all that makes film great as both an art form and as a piece of history. I hope that with this donation, I am able to let the future learn from the past.
