Marcella Parisi to Resign as Executive Director of AKSM Photography
VILLANOVA, PA - AKSM Photography announced today that Marcella Parisi will officially resigned from her leadership position as Executive Director - which she has served in since 2019 - effective on Sunday August 1, 2021 at 12 Noon.
In a statement, Parisi explained, “Recently, I decided to further my education with a Master’s Degree in Sports Psychology at Florida State University. As you know, change is vital for progress, I believe that furthering my education will help me achieve my future goals in my field of interest. Leaving the helm of AKSM Photography will be extremely hard and bittersweet, but I leave it knowing that my tenure as Executive Director had an impact on the program as a whole.
Parisi has been Executive Director of AKSM Photography for over two years, and in that time has successfully led the program to become one of the most respected photography studios in the area; expanded an established photojournalism program; covered national events including the 2018 NCAA National Championship as well as the 200 Presidential Election; and led teams of photography students to gain careers in photojournalism.”
Though Parisi is departing her role as Executive Director of AKSM Photography, she will continue in her senior leadership position on AKSM Media’s Council of Vice Presidents as Senior Vice President for Media Operations.
AKSM Media’s Board of Directors, Council of Vice Presidents, and the President’s Cabinet, along with AKSM Photography’s Senior Leadership Team has already chosen and agreed on a new Executive Director per a recommendation by Miss Parisi and a statement announcing the new Executive Director will be made later this month.
AKSM Media’s CEO, Andrew McKeough, stated that, “Marcella has been an integral part of the skeleton of not just AKSM Photography, but AKSM Media on the whole. Her absence in daily operations will be felt each day. Knowing that she is furthering her education in a field of study that brings her joy is important to our mission of innovating, informing, and inspiring those around us. I will miss Marcella each day and wish her all the best in her future.”
