TEMPE, Ariz. - On Monday morning, a Democratic Party campaign office in Tempe, Arizona was damaged by gunfire but no injuries were reported, according to local authorities.

The damage was first noticed by office employees on Monday morning where they found bullet holes in the front windows of the office.

The office is shared by staff members for the Arizona Democratic Party, the Harris-Walz campaign and the Senate and House campaigns in Arizona to boost turnout for the Democrats in November.

Tempe police are currently investigating the incident as a property crime since there were no people inside the office at the time of the shooting and are considering all possible motives for the gunfire.

Last week, the office was damaged by another incident of gunshots through the windows. Authorities believe last week’s incident involved either a pellet or BB gun. At this time, authorities do not know the type of gun used in this most recent incident but continue to investigate the situation.

“It’s extremely sad that the Arizona Democratic Party has become the target of violence,” said Yolanda Bejarano, the Democratic party chair of Arizona, “It’s not who we are as Arizonans or Americans.”

This incident occurred just days before the current Democratic nominee for President, Kamala Harris, is scheduled to visit Arizona as she continues her campaign leading up to the November election.
