Katie Feeney Appointed White House Social Media Correspondent

WASHINGTON - AKSM News is pleased to announce that Katie Feeney will join the White House Correspondents Team effective Monday, November 28, 2022 as the team’s White House Social Media Correspondent.

As part of her position, Feeney will be responsible for broadening the reporting of the White House via social media platforms as well as detailed coverage of White House events. Feeney will also be responsible for bringing an inside look into the White House to a new demographic in the hopes to curb the spread of inaccurate facts on social media.

Feeney has previously worked as the NFL’s first ever Social Media Correspondent where she was detailed to the Washington Commanders as well as being a social media assistant for Penn State Football. Feeney also owns her own brand called Just Katie Things. Feeney has amassed over 12 million followers across all platforms including 7.1 million followers on TikTok alone.

Chief White House Correspondent Emily Barkann said, "I am ecstatic to begin working with Katie. She has clearly shown ample promise for a flourishing career in broadcasting and I cannot wait to help her grow and watch all of her future successes!."

Originally from Silver Spring, Maryland, Feeney is currently pursuing a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Communication at Penn State University’s Donald P. Bellisario College of Communications in State College, Pennsylvania where she is a sophomore while serving as the White House Division’s Social Media Correspondent.
